Birthday Party for Dogs!

Natural Dog Birthday Cake Recipe
( do not use Milk Bones- choose another more natural brand)

Ingredients:

1/2 c whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp peanut butter
2 tbsp applesauce
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp honey
1 egg
1 tbsp water
1/2 c shredded carrot

toppings

plain greek yogurt
carrot shreds
dog treats

carob chips for garnish or use this food and sprinkle on top:

Preheat the oven to 350F

Shred your carrot first. One medium-sized carrot should give you a bit more than the 1/2 cup you need for the recipe, so you have some left over for decorating.

Mix together the flour and baking powder, then add in the peanut butter, applesauce, vanilla, honey, egg and water, and mix in evenly. Add the carrot shreds last and loosely fold in, the texture should be slightly liquid but still relatively thick.

Make your dog a cake; The Birthday cake for a dog; YOU can use gluten free flour if needed: Wheat free options for your pet.

YOU can do some whipped cream cheese on top:

Dog Cake

1 egg
½ cup peanut butter
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
⅓ cup honey (optional)
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup flour, (whole wheat or white)
1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl, combine the egg, peanut butter, oil, vanilla, and honey (optional).

Stir in the carrots, then gradually add the flour and baking soda until well combined.

Pour into a small and greased baking pan. I used a 5.75 x 3 inch mini loaf pan and it was perfect. a 6 cup ring mold also works.

Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes, (mine was done after 30). Turn onto a wire rack and let cool completely.

6 cup ring mold
